Baku Steel Company CJSC (BSC) is the first modern and largest steelmaking plant established in the Caucasus region. The plant was officially inaugurated on June 21, 2001, in the presence of Azerbaijan’s National Leader, Heydar Aliyev.
BSC is a permanent member of the World Steel Association, a respected international organization in the steel industry, and the only Azerbaijani company in the South Caucasus to be a member of the association.
The plant has an annual production capacity of 800,000 tonnes. Using modern steelmaking and continuous casting technologies, it produces square and round billets, reinforcing bars (rebar), seamless pipes, wire rod and ferrosilicon.
BSC is one of the major taxpayers and exporters in Azerbaijan’s non-oil sector. The company exports its products to more than 20 countries worldwide, including countries in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and the Americas.
The company operates in accordance with the ISO 9001:2015 standard, while its health, occupational safety and environmental protection management system is based on the requirements of ISO 45001:2018.

Our Products / Projects
REBARS
Construction rebars are manufactured with diameter 8-32 mm, Length 6,000- 12,000 mm. Rebars are manufactured to customer orders in bundles weighing 3,000–5,000 kg, with a quality mark applied. Tags on each bundle indicate the steel grade, standard, diameter, heat number, length, weight, and other parameters. Factory identification marks are applied to finished rebars in accordance with the relevant standards.
WIRE ROD (STEEL WIRE)
The wire rod is produced with diameters of 5.5 and 8.0 mm and is wound into bundles weighing from 500 to 650 kg. The label attached to each bundle of wire rod indicates the steel grade, standard, diameter, melt or batch number, length, weight and other parameters.
SQUARE BILLETS
Square billets used to produce construction reinforcement are produced on a radial fourjet continuous casting machine supplied by the Turkish company “Demora”. Square blanks are produced with a cross-section of 125x125 and 150x150 mm and length from 3,000 to

ROUND BILLETS
BSC has expanded its product range and since 2021 has started producing round billets using continuous casting method for the production of seamless pipes used in the oil and gas industry. Here, high-quality billets with diameters of 130, 150, 150, 160, 170, 190, 220 and 250 mm are produced in accordance with the standards GOST 34636-2020, DIN 17100-80, EN 10025-2004, the length of which is determined by the customer.
PIPE
The rolling process is automated with rotary and induction furnaces, improving pipe quality and increasing rolling mill productivity. Straightening machines with a new hydraulic system further improve production efficiency. Seamless pipes with diameters of 73–245 mm are produced on the RMA-250 unit. Pipe and coupling threading is performed using digitally controlled EMAG and Danobat machines. The connection of pipes and couplings is automated using equipment supplied by Lazzari. Hydraulic tests are carried out on YAMASUI presses, while chemical analyses are performed using a modern multi-channel optical spectrometer. Non-destructive testing is conducted to detect internal defects and control pipe wall thickness using Volga-16-002-TK-PEP and Nordinkraft ultrasonic equipment. Automated magnetic particle inspection (MPI) of couplings is performed using specialized Karl Deutsch equipment. These modern automated production and testing systems ensure high-quality seamless pipes, reliable connections, and efficient manufacturing processes, while maintaining strict quality control and meeting demanding industrial production standards throughout production.
FERROALLOYS PRODUCTION SITE
The BSC’s ferroalloys section produces ferrosilicon (FeSi) of various qualities and fractions (FeSi 65% - FeSi 75%, fraction 0-100 mm), which is used as deoxidizing and alloying additive in the production of electrical, spring, corrosion-resistant and heat-resistant steels and other materials.
